Government has the responsibility to see that teachers and lectures research allowance are pay in time, which will enable these teachers and lectures to do their work according, Due to the economy challenges these allowances have not been paid by the government
Few days, ago UTAG stage another strike because the government failed to meet their demands, but the education minister have encouraged teachers and lectures to call off the strike Based on that, UTAG also have released a statement that they will not call off the strike until their research allowances is pay.
However, let's look at some of the important reasons why the government should pay annual research allowance.
Annual research allowance may be used by teachers and lectures for the following purpose. Purchase of books, journals and periodicals. Travel cost for field work, research conferences, historical research and archival work. Purchase minor equipment, Purchase of experimental materials or animal and many more
