GES: Teachers 'Flood' Workshop Ground with Expensive Cars[Photos]

Some Staff of Ghana Education Service have finished with their 3 day workshop in All Parts of Upper West Region on the 15th of January 2022.

The Workshop Begun on the 13th instead of the 12th for reasons not disclosed by the Education Directorate.

Teachers are expected to be payed Ghc20 Per Day which sums up to Ghc60 for the 3days as TnT. Some Teachers within the Upper West Region, Specifically Wa have stated that their TnT hasn't been payed after the workshop, others added that they were told to wait until further notice.

Some Teachers have been spotted parking very expensive cars at one of the Venues in Wa, Teachers in Wa Holding their program at Wa Technical Institute parked Cars Such as KIA Sportage,Toyota Hilux, Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla S, Highlander, Vibe and Many other Cars ranging from Ghc50,000 In the Market, some others parked Motorbikes also ranging from Ghc7,000 and above, it's mind blowing how teachers claim they earn less yet are able to buy such expensive cars, some teachers interviewed admitted a new teacher takes Ghc1,700, which is a diploma teacher whilst, a Degree holder takes Ghc2,150, they added that Teacher Unions Give Loans at interest of at most 10% which is simple interest. Teachers are entitled to a professional allowance of Ghc1,200 every November.

Basic Schools in Ghana are to resume duty on the 18th January 2022 and vacate for the year on 16th December 2022. This Includes Primary Schools and Kindergarten schools.

All are to spend at least 22weeks in school per semester.

Lesson Notes have gone digital and all teachers will stop writing them immediately they receive their laptops.
