The Savannah Regional Communication Officer of the NDC, Maleek Basintale, has told the host of 'HOT NEWS' on Pan Africa television, Justice Appiah, that he has been listening to Dr. Mahamud Bawumia a lot that is why he has been infested with his propaganda.
Maleek Basintale made this statement when Justice Appiah said that the government is unable to employ graduates because the government cannot use all the state resources to employ and pay public sector workers.
According to Justice Appiah (host), the current government cannot use all our limited state resources to recruit graduates just like, what happened under the NDC.
"Maleek, you will recall that under your watch, there was a backlog of nurses and teachers who were not recruited purposely because they were waiting for financial clearance and because we didn't have the money to recruit them that's why there was a backlog. The truth is that we cannot mount pressure on the public purse, and we cannot use state revenues to employ and pay public sector workers.
Maleek Basintale disagreed with the host Justice Appiah and said that the NDC didn't recruit graduates because of a lack of finance.
"You see, you've been listening to Dr. Mahamud Bawumia a lot that's why you are gradually being infested with some of his propaganda. Let me explain these to you, the reason why there was a backlog and people were unable to get recruited during the days of the NDC was not purposely because there was no finances in the country. It was because there were not enough facilities to even recruit such people on board that is why we commenced building new Senior High Schools."
Maleek Basintale indicated that today, those Senior High Schools have been completed, but why is the NPP government not recruiting people to go and work there? Some E-blocks have been abandoned in the bush meanwhile, there is a backlog of teachers who needed to be recruited.
He added that back in the days, there was nothing like the University of Ghana medical center, there was nothing like the Bank of Ghana medical center, the Ridge hospital was not revamped, and the Tamale Teaching Hospital wasn't expanded, but today, all these infrastructures are in place all because the NDC invested in these projects. So, there are facilities available where the government can employ new graduates to go and work.
