The National Teaching Council is the sole body responsible for the issuance of license to professional teachers in Ghana. One the basic requirement of licensed teachers is to participate in workshops and training activities organised by certified Continuous Professional Development providers.
The National Teaching Council has sent links to Human Resource Management Development officers of the various Education Directorates. The officers are to forward the links to teachers within their jurisdictions.
Teachers are required by the National Teaching Council to provide the necessary information latest by Tuesday, 20th July, 2021. The information given will be used to assess the work of CPD providers in the journey towards teacher-professionalism.
The aim of this exercise by the National Teaching Council is ascertain whether teachers are satisfied with the services rendered to them by the CPD providers.
Some of the items contained in the questionnaire include email address, Region and District of the teacher. Teachers are also to state names of CPD providers they have accessed services from, if they are satisfied with the services or not.
This sudden move by the National Teaching Council has buttressed the gross dissatisfaction of teachers as some some CPD providers have resorted to virtual workshops instead of face-to-face.
