GES Organises Free ICT Training For JHS And SHS Teachers. Participants To Be Awarded CPD Points.

In this era of digitalisation, ICT integration has become an integral part of almost every aspect of our human endeavours. As such the education sector has not been left out. There have been several efforts by stakeholders to support both teachers and learners to be able to come into term with the key concepts of the ICT world. The Leadership of the Teacher Unions in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and the government has instituted the One Teacher, One Laptop initiative. So far, a number of Laptop have been provided to teachers in the Senior and Junior High schools across the country.

In this regard, it has become very necessary for the teachers to be trained in some basic ICT concepts to enable them utilize the various E-learning resources. The invitation to this workshop come in a letter dated 4th July, 2022 signed by the Deputy Director General Mr. Anthony Boateng.

According to the letter this training workshop became possible following a successful Pilot of Physical and Online training in Greater Accra and the Five Northern Regions.

"The Ghana Education Service in collaboration with KA Technologies and Microsoft hereby announces the roll out of the training in all regions across the country".

It continues that, " Both physical and online modules will commence on July 5, 2022. Each region is required to follow their respective training schedules shared with KAT and GES for effective monitoring ".

Finally, teachers are reminded that participants will received points for their Continuous Professional Development and certificate for participation upon successful completion and assessment.

Most importantly, teachers are advised not to pay any fees for the certificates as it comes at no cost.
