Matriculation ceremonies are formal occasions during which fresh men and women are officially initiated as Junior Members of tertiary institutions. Any student who has not matriculated is not recognized as a student of the institution. They are required to swear the Matriculation Oath, pledging to obey all the rules and regulations as well as sign the matriculation cards. All these requirements are considered sacred as they validate the admission and integration of freshmen and women into their new academic fraternity.
By participating in this solemn ceremony, you are subscribing to the rights, privileges and responsibilities prescribed in the Students Handbook, the Code of Conduct, the Statutes as well as other regulations and guidelines governing conduct in this Institute.
The this reason, the president of the Data Link Institute of Business and Technology, Prof (Mrs) Smile Gavua Dzisi on the occasion of the the 16th matriculation ceremony of the institution ushered the fresh men and women into their various programs of study; BSc. Business Administration, BSc. Computer Science, BSc Information Communication Technology (ICT) and the Masters Programmes: MPhil Strategic Management and MSc Strategic Management.
Addressing the congregation, Prof (Mrs) Smile Gavua Dzisi, disclosed that the current crop of matriculants have enrolled in the Institute at a time when the world remains threatened by the Covid-19 pandemic. And as an Institute they are doing their best to fulfill their mandate and pursue their vision of delivering quality teaching and learning without endangering lives. "We invested in robust infrastructure which has enabled us to adopt a blended approach to teaching and learning and to help us deliver quality. And on this occasion, I commend our hardworking staff for the great work they are doing during the challenging times imposed by the pandemic." - Prof (Mrs) Smile Gavua Dzisi said.
However, she added that in their quest to become one of the best private academic institutions in the world, the Institute continues to collaborate with highly rated universities and other institutions of higher learning across the globe and these efforts are beginning to yield very promising results. These international partnerships and the exchanges are excellent opportunities for students to enrich their educational path and increase their employability. "We are grateful to our affiliate institutions Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and University of for Development Studies for supporting our efforts at quality and innovative education delivery. Very soon, in collaboration with University of Education Winneba (UEW) we will establish a Faculty of Education." - She added.
Prof (Mrs.) Smile Gavua Dzisi urged the fresh men and women to accept her congratulations on their admission into this great institution. "In formally accepting you as members in statu populari of this Institute I do so with the firm belief that you chose Data Link Institute of business and Technology not because the other tertiary institutions rejected you. I believe you opted for Data Link by conviction (I can assure you that you won’t regret this choice). You must recognize that your admission here is a great opportunity for which you must be grateful. We are one of the few Institutions that offer professional programmes, notably, International Certificate/ Diploma/ Advance Diploma 1; Logistics and Transport (CILT, DILT ADILT); Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA); Institute of Commerciale Management (ICM); Chartered Institutes of Bankers (CIB) and the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM); CISCO program; Cyber Security and many more."
She used the opportunity to encourage all to enroll on these programmes to enable them become professionals in their various fields at the earliest possible time. On behalf of the Board, Management and all stakeholders of this Institute, she concluded by pledging their commitment to developing these freshmen and women so that when they graduate a few years from now, their critical minds, their skillful hands and their positive attitudes will make a lot of difference in the quest to meet the national development goals.
