Kumawood actor and president of The Actors’ Guild, Bill Asamoah on Saturday 2nd October,2021 buried his beloved mother at Mampong in the Ashanti region.
As was expected, many actors in the movie industry, mostly Kumawood, thronged the venue of the ceremony to support their colleague as well as offer their condolence. Among the many familiar faces seen at the occasion were Akwasi Antwi(Dr. Likee), Kwaku Manu, Mercy Asiedu and a many others. Many movie producers and directors were also spotted at the venue.
As the funeral was in session, it got to a point where some of the actors were invited to sing and cheer up the bereaved family and most especially their colleague. Mercy Asiedu took up the challenge and took to singing and serenading all at the funeral. At a point, many of the actors could not keep to their seats and so went to joint her to sing.
Bill Asamoah was not left out as his colleagues invited him to join them. The actor, who hitherto had maintained a composed posture could not help it any longer as Mercy Asiedu’s song of comfort got to him. He could no longer hold it together and gave way to tears.
At that instant, his colleagues drew even closer to him and comforted him.
We wish him enough strength to deal with this difficult time.
