The National Communications Authority (NCA) has served notice that it will close down 49 TV channels for working without approval.
The move by the National Communications Authority (NCA) comes following quite a while of observing of the different Satellite Free-to-Air Television stages utilizing the Broadcast Monitoring System (BMS) and the Radio Spectrum Monitoring System.
Section 2(4) of the Electronic Communications Act 775 of 2008 states that 'Besides as given by this Act or some other law not conflicting with this Act, an individual will not work a telecom framework or give a telecom administration without a recurrence authorisation by the Authority'.
