She got the McBrown because she was adopted by Mr. Kofi McBrown and Madam Betty Obiri Yeboah who was her aunt. At a young age, her father and mother divorced, forcing her mother to send her and her six other siblings to live with Mr. Kofi McBrown. Since Mr. McBrown was now the new father of Nana Ama, she decided to change her name and adopt McBrown as her surname which she has been using since.
2. She started acting in 2001.
Nana Ama McBrown began her acting career in 2001 after getting accepted as a costumier in a movie crew. After receiving the call to become the costumier, Nana Ama managed to wow the director, Samuel Nyamekye with her preliminary acting talent. Few scenes into the movie, the lead character was dropped as Nana Ama was made to play the lead role.
