In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, 6th August 2022, he wrote;
"Ghana will kill your dreams. It doesn’t matter who, where or when. E go reach everyone.".
The comments of Oliver Barker comes in wake of Ghana's disqualification from the men 4x400m relay finals despite gaining automatic qualification.
For failing to confirm a change in the running order at least one hour to the competition, Ghana has been disqualified from the men's 4x100-meter semifinals.
Furthermore , the appeal of the Ghana Athletics Association’s on the issue failed. This means Ghana will not participate in tomorrow's final.
Oliver Barker believes that the hard work of the athletes have being in vain and their dreams are shattered due to an error made by the coach.
