Culture shift: The various drill sounds in Ghana now

After the introduction of the massive Kumerica wave from Kumasi in Ghana accompanied with its signature Twi Drill, Asakaa, tune it seems even artists in Accra have hopped on and doing their own thing.

Coining various sounds out of the twi drill has brought about various groups of Twi drill sounds making hits in Ghana now. Let’s check them out:

The first group is the first Asakaa song from Kawabanga ft O’kenneth, Reggie, Jaybhad, and Cityboy called Akatafoc

Then came Sore by Yaw Tog ft Okenneth, Reggie, Cityboy, Jaybhad

Condemn by JayBhad ft Reggie, Okenneth, Kwaku DMC

3maa by Kiki Marley of Rufftown records

Latest among this sound is Kofi jamar’s Ekorso ft Yaw Tog and Ypee

The second group also drill but a different sound and vibe from those of the Asakaa guys.
