A statement praising Burna Boy's work and achievements was posted on the controversial dancehall musician's Snapchat Story today, Saturday, August 27, 2022. Part of the message appears to be an effort at reconciliation with the Afro-fusion sensation.
His post reads: "Born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr."
"Laad Gad, my friend who was going to be my friend but is no longer, is destroying the world. Even though we don't communicate, I'm so pleased with his success. Burna, you burning, shouts Love."
Burna Boy has not yet reacted or answered.
Both musicians traded insults and exposed each other's alleged secrets during the "fight," with Shatta referring to his rival as a "poor lad with little money."
When Burna Boy apologized to his fans on Instagram and promised to avoid similar situations in the future, the conflict ended—at least on social media.
I apologize to everyone. This kind of [thing] is not what I do. Being dirty is the sole result of fighting a pig. Pigs are accustomed to dirt. I let this pig really get to me. But I swear. I'm not going to allow myself to sink to this level again.
"I apologize to everyone truly."
Shatta Wale's admiration for Burna Boy came days after images of his visit to Rudeboy of P-Square, another Nigerian music artist in the United States, surfaced on social media.
Contrary to his infamous 2021 statement, "I don't need Nigeria promotion," the "On God" hitmaker has announced his upcoming "Nigeria Media Tour."
