Prince Phillip of Edinburgh and husband to the Queen of England died after a brief illness and today he is laid to rest in the castle of Windsor. The union between Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip lasted over 70-years, precisely after the end of World War 2 when the Queen was just 21 years old. But here are vital things you need to know about this funeral which kicked off 3pm, according to reports from CNN, the funeral will be held at St. George's cathedral in Windsor castle. Prince Phillip wanted a simple funeral hence, there will be no crowd, only 30 persons from the Royal family are allowed to attend the funeral, the four children and eight grandchildren of Prince Phillip.
Reports also have it that Meghan Markle will not be in attendance due to her health, the British Prime minister was also not in attendance and had to watch the funeral from him home. Prince Phillip himself designed the car with which he wanted his body to be carried, but more focus was on the Queen who is now a widowed Queen after 73-years of marriage to Prince Phillip, whom she has referred to as "The Strength of the Royal Family".
