The managing director for STC bus company under President President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's government, Nana Akomea has confessed to TV host, Randy Abbey that fuel price is now killing the STC company and they have made some huge lost within one year.
Nana Akomea speaking on Metro TV good morning Ghana show today, Friday, 22nd October, 2021 stated that the STC bus company has faced a lot of challenges due to fuel price which has been rapidly increased throughout the year. He made this confession when Randy Abbey started to mock him on the show.
Randy Abbey hilariously stated that since the closure of borders, Nana Akomea's attitude have changed and Nana Akomea responded that it is true and blame high of fuel price.
He said fuel price have been increased up to 42% within a year and they have managed to increased lorry fee up 13% only which is affecting them seriously.
According to him, since the closure of borders, they have lost millions of money but they did not laid off workers and they have more than 700 workers who works daily for the company.
Randy Abbey brilliantly made some suggestions to government on how Nana Akomea admitted that things are hard for them.
Randy Abbey stated that he thinks as far as covid-19 vaccines are being imported into the country every week, government should open the borders and vaccinate towns closer to the borders and make sure vaccines are available always to vaccinate people.
He also suggested that government must use covid-19 membership card as passport on the borders to check people who aren't vaccinated.
Nana Akomea responded to Randy Abbey's suggestions and said that his suggestion is good and he has already called on minister of finance, Ken Offori Atta to discuss how they can manage and get some reliefs for STC bus company because things are getting hard for them.
