Ghana has produced several multi talented stars in the movie industry.
Over the years, we have had legendary actors like Bob Santo, Katawere, Kyeiwaa, Judas amongst others.
We cannot take out Alex Kofi Adu A.K.A Agyakoo so far as legandary Ghanaian actors are concerned, he featured in the keysoap concert party amongst others, one reason why Agyakoo is loved by all is his versatility, he is able to shift from commedy to other genres with ease.
If you see Agyakoo in a movie, then know you are going to have a good laugh due to his skillfulness in engaging his audience with hilarious comedy's.
Over some years now, it seems the legendary actor is no more seen in kumawood films anymore, this had raised a lot of questions about his whereabouts and why he had quit his acting career.
This is the explanation he gave at a live radio interview:
He attributed his absence in kumawood movies to a popular movie he acted titled "Okomfo Anokye" , he played his role as Okomfo Anokye with professionalism until they reached a particular scene where he was supposed to go naked and bath in a river, he pleaded with the producer to omit that scene as it will be rather awkward and immoral to go naked in a movie scene, he also added that for a while now he has been advocating against porn and nudity after he was advised by Osei Tutu II , the king of the Asante Land.
His refusal to act that particular scene got the producer furious and later he had to leave the scene and quit the movie, this did not go well with the producer and according to him, the popular producer met with other kumawood producers and agreed not to feature him in any kumawood movie.
According to him, he was no more invited for kumawood movies after that scene, and that has lead to his absence from the movie industry, but he stated that he had started his own TV channels on Facebook and YouTube namely "Agyakoo TV" , and has had a great number of people patronizing his TV.
