Obaapa Christy says “I don’t hold grudges” as she drops The Glory

Ghanaian Gospel singer, Obaapa Christy has released a new single with the title The Glory. Conveying the information on her social media handle, the hitmaker revealed that she never holds grudges. Instead, she takes lessons from the encounter to prepare herself for the next encounter.

Certainly, that has been the magic that has kept her intact for generations in the entertainment circles. Formerly called Christian Love, the gospeller has endured several and brouhaha that should have ended her career. Mostly, they were issues that emanated from her marriage. Fortunately for her, she is always able to waggle all her way up through the hitches.

Apparently, she sees The Glory at the end of it all. According to Obaapa Christy, the anger we accumulate within us damages ourselves and no other party else. Therefore, we should shun the act of imprisoning ourselves.

“I don’t hold grudges; I take notes that keep me better prepared for our next encounter. The anger we hold inside damages us, nobody else. Don’t be a prisoner of yourself. Bury the past, keep the lessons.”

The Meti Ase hitmaker dropped The Glory on November 3 this year. Skyweb directed the visual. The song emphasizes that God deserves the praises of man for the gift of life. That, if the year dies and man is still among the living, then the creator deserves all the glory.

It’s quite obvious that this is a Christmas and New Year song. Thus, Christmas and New Year climaxed all activities a year. They are thanksgiving festivals for their celebrants.

Obaapa Christy gained prominence in the late 2000s after winning big at the Ghana Music Awards. In 2007, she won the Gospel Artiste of the Year and Song of the Year Awards at Ghana Music Awards. In the same edition, she won the Best female vocal performer and the Best Collaboration with Kweku Gyasi for her hit song Ade Akye Abia.

Interestingly, in 2008, former president John Agyekum Kufuor conferred a national honour on her.
