Pius Hadzide 'Clashes' With Johnny Hughes Over 30 State Ambulances

It was a heated discussion in the studios of TV3's New Day programme hosted by Johnny Hughes earlier as the recently Chief Executive Officer for the National Youth Authority (NYA), Pius Hadzide boldly rebutted some claims on the "illegal" purchase of some thirty (30) ambulances by the state. The two engaged in a vocal banters for over 5 minutes as Pius Hadzide disagreed with Johnny Hughes over the manner and sort of questions he raised on the matter.

According to host Johnny Hughes, he finds it very worrying and difficult to understand how about 30 ambulances bought by the country have not sighted by any Ghanaian. He believes that there have been a financial loss to the state, and the country has been shortchanged and as a matter of fact investigation should be lauched. He called for the state to take the company to Court to bring justification to the matter.

However, it seems his statement did not go down well with Pius Hadzide who strongly opposed. He vented his anger on Johnny for trying to incite the people of Ghana against the government. He indicated that, the recent Johnny's style of journalism is gradually becoming unprofessional and disgraceful.

According to Pius Hadzide, the country has found out that there have been illegality in the purchase and has proceeded to court. He boldly stated that, for any Ghanaian to assert that the government has taken no action on the matter is palpably false.

Johnny Hughes later interjected to find out about the whereabouts of the 30 ambulances. In a sharp response to the question, Pius denied knowledge about where the ambulances are and directed Johnny to the Ministry of Health. He said, "The position of the state by the development is that illegality has occurred and we have lost money. The state has then proceeded to court to do the needful."

He added, "I wonder how a professional journalist like you would ask this question on your bite. The answer is simply walking 5 minutes to the Ministry of Health to find out and then telling us. You are becoming a lazy Journalist since you started Akuffo-Addo government."
