The first son of the late Mionlana Abdulai Mahamadu has emotionally worn his father's smock to succeed him in a colorful ceremony. A source close to the Royal family explained on social media that, traditionally, the first son of the departed King is mostly chosen to take over the throne.
For now, we can confirm that Naa Alhassan Abdulai who is the first son of the late Mionlana Abdulai Mahamadu is the new Mionlana who will continue the good works of his father at the Mion traditional area.
The ceremonies was very peaceful and colourful as the community members sung and danced to the rhythm of local drums.
Few weeks ago, the people of Dagbon were thronged into a state of mourning. That was when they lost their King. Today, they can smile because a new King has been enstooled.
May the reign of Naa Alhassan Abdulai become so successful and beautiful like his father.
