Nominations are now opened for the much awaited Ghana Media Excellence Awards. The award scheme seeks to honor and appreciate media excellence in the country. The maiden edition scheduled for October 10, 2021 is expected to be held at the Accra International Conference Centre, the organizers have announced.
A news release issued on Saturday May 1, stated that the filling of nomination will remain open until July 30.
“It is evidently clear that the media industry is undoubtedly the fourth arm of government considering socio- economic and political development in any civil society. It is on this note that a young and vibrant media personality who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BPLUS MULTIMEDIA, Ahli-Ayao Joy Blessing have initiated this awards scheme - GHANA MEDIA EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2021,” the release stated.
It described the Ghana Media Excellence award as “a unique awards night to appreciate excellence in the media industry” in Ghana.
Miss Joy Blessing told journalists in an interview that the promotion of Media Excellence is part of a deliberate move to ensure that there is a continuous freedom of the press in the country.
While applauding media houses that practice excellence in the discharge of their responsibilities, she appealed to all stakeholders to be fair, just and objective in their reportage always.
This maiden edition of GMEA is on the team 'PROMOTING MEDIA EXCELLENCE, THE ROLE OF MEDIA PROFFESIONALS’.
