The issue of the arrest of celebrities who have fallen foul of the law by the Ghana Police Service has dominated the airwaves of traditional media and has also gone viral on social media. Funny Face, Shatta Wale, and Medikal were apprehended over different offenses within the week. They have all been processed before a court. Medikal and Shatta Wale are remanned as Funny Face has been referred to the Psychiatrist's Hospital for rehabilitation. Die-hard followers of these celebrities have shown great solidarity with their idols in these trying times.
Speaking on the issue on United Showbiz on United TV ( on October 23), Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly called Bulldog, the manager of Shatta Wale described the situation of his artist as unfortunate. Bulldog cautioned that, since the issue is in court, no one should say something that may preempt the case before court. He continued that, Shatta Wale is going through a difficult time and he urged the general public and followers of the artist to support him in this difficult time.
Meanwhile, Kwame A-Plus, one of the panelists on the show, said Shatta Wale should be applauded for triggering a discussion that may bring the country to analyze the impact of death prophecies made by pastors on celebrities. He maintained that, at the end of the day, measures will be put in place to guard against the activities of pastors who give doom prophecies.
