Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, says she regret not having many children herself when she was much younger.
She made this revelation when speaking as a guest on Asaase radio afternoon show hosted by Naa Ashorkor.
At 41 years of age, Mzbel has only one biological child called Adepa but reveals she is not happy about it because she could have had more children years back. She revealed that, at the peak of her career, she met a well-to-do man who was ready to marry her and take care of her so that she would have babies for him but she rejected the proposal because she was making enough money from her music career, travelling around the world and having fun.
Asked how her music career began, she revealed that growing up, she aspired to be a bilingual secretary but her love for music and singing at leisure time caught the attention of a promoter who decided to give her the opportunity and her music immediately became a success.
She further opined that, growing up in James town, she had a difficult life and so when she became famous and was making money, making babies was not in her plans but rather, she decided to adopt kids in the community and give them a better life too.
Mzbel further advised coming up artist to take their career seriously and not put all their focus on music but try to do other things that they can rely on after the music career. She also entreated women to give birth as much as they can (at most six) because she feels very unhappy with only one biological child . She also revealed that she is not much into music herself but now playing managerial roles and is focused on trying to have her own biological kids as possible as she can.
Meanwhile, her 19 year old adopted son, with whom she has been with for sixteen (16) years has left her and gone back to his biological parents. Mzbel revealed, the son did something wrong and she decided to reprimand him but the adopted son took offense and decided to leave her home.
Asked whether she would accepted the adopted son back, Mzbel replied in the negatve.
