It can be recalled the Nigerian music star and CEO of “David Music Worldwide”, Davido recently announced that he was contemplating quitting music.
This came after OBO and Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, who is popularly known as Burna Boy, clashed with him in a night club in Ghana. It appears that the rival musicians exchanged blows inside the Twist Night club in Accra, Ghana, while fellow musician Wizkid was sitting unconcerned drinking wine. The said sad scene occurred on December 27, when the three Nigerian artists clashed at the club.
It appears the singer, Davido is fed-up with such scuffles and decided to quite the Nigerian music industry. He made the announcement on his official Twitter handle that he will leave the music industry “for Burna Boy and co.” His tweet generated many reactions from Nigerians, especially from his fans.
The latest on that front is that, Cubana Cheif Priest has also taken to his official Twitter handle to share his thought on Davido’s decision to quit Nigerian Music. According to him, if Davido should leave music, the entire Nigeria music industry will crumble on its feet. He added that the ‘Fem’ hit maker is the real “Odogwu” because he has “lifted” so many people.
On his official twitter handle, Cubana Chief Priest Wrote,
“If Davido should leave Music, the entire Nigeria music Industry will collapse. We all know how he has lifted so many people today. The real Odogwu himself David Adeleke,”
Some Nigerians, mostly fans of Davido whom they believe to be a legend do agree with the assertion of Cubana Chief Priest and therefore would wish that the superstar reconsiders his decision. We however do not know whether Davido’s announcement was a nine day wonder and a results of adrenaline from his fight with Burna Boy or he was indeed serious about it. Whatever the case is, time will tell.
