Vera Sidika Mung'asia was born on September 30, 1989, in Nairobi, Kenya. She is a Kenyan television and social media personality, celebrity, video vixen businesswoman, and socialite. Sidika, a Mombasa native, came to popularity in her career after participating on P-track Unit's 2012 single "You Guy." She's been dubbed "one of Africa's and East Africa's greatest video vixens."
Because of her lavish lifestyle and unique opinions on life, she is regarded as one of Kenya's most controversial women. In 2015, she and her fellow socialites made their debut on the reality program Nairobi Diaries.
Vera Sidika began her career as a plus-size model at the age of 17, competing in competitions and fashion shows. She relocated to Nairobi in 2009, when she enrolled at Kenyatta University to complete her education in art and design, giving her the opportunity to fully further her profession.
Sidika and other Kenyan social media stars such as fashion stylist Silvia Njoki, musician and actress Ella Ciru, NGO ambassador and student Gertrude Murunga, architect Kiki Diang'a, fitness instructor Marjolein Blokland, and socialite and singer Pendo starred in the reality television series Nairobi Diaries as of December 2015. The show dives into the lives of the ladies on a daily basis.
Sidika admitted to lightening her complexion in the UK in 2014. She denied suggestions that the operation was unsafe and could have a negative impact on her health. She claimed the surgery cost her more than Ksh15 million. "My body is my business, and it is a money-maker," she told anchor Larry Madowo.
