Daddy Lumba is a multiple award-winning Ghanaian musician with a career spanning three decades. Lumba was born Charles Kwadwo Fosu on the 29th of September 1964 in a village called Nsuta Amangoase in the Sekyere Central District, near Mampong in Ashanti Region. His father, Owoahene Kwadwo Fosu, a teacher, died when Daddy Lumba was only a child. His mother, Comfort Gyamfi, popularly known as Ama Saah, was also a teacher. She died in 2001 in Kumasi. Her death was a devastating blow to Lumba as she was literally everything to him. Many of Daddy Lumba's songs, including ‘Anidasoɔ Wɔhɔ Ma Obiara’, ‘Ohia Asɛm’, Ɛmmere Pa Bɛba’, ‘Agya Bi Wua Agya Bi Tease’ were dedicated to her.
Peter Famiyeh Bozah (born 11 September 1994), known by the stage name Fameye, is a Ghanaian rapper and musician from Bogoso. He is best known for his single "Nothing I Get". He released a remix of the song which featured Article Wan, Medikal and Kuami Eugene. He was a member of MTN Hitmaker Season 4. He won an award for the best new artiste of the year at the 2020 VGMA's. According to Daddy Lumba, Fameye is the best musician in Ghana.
Daddy Lumba advice that, perhaps the most important quality in a musician looking to perfect their instrument is patience, especially if you’re just starting out. No one becomes a virtuoso overnight, so if you hit a wall, don’t worry, just keep going until you get it right. It takes a lot of time and effort to be a truly great musician. While it’s important to work on your scales and other (more boring) techniques - don't forget to keep your practice sessions fun! Learn your favourite songs and work on new material around your more regimented exercises to make sure you feel fresh and enthusiastic about your instrument. The worst thing for a musician is when playing becomes a chore, rather than an enjoyable experience.
