Awarding people for whatever successes they've chalked in their respective fields of endeavours is one of the very facets of life that raises morale for a better performance in the near future.
In Ghana, some celebrities do not take award schemes as a game but project them as the number one priority on the scale of preference on their career paths.
A few weeks ago, organizers of 3Music awarded some Ghanaian artistes like KiDi and others and that act alone became the talk of the town for some days on social media. One of the most spoken aspects of all this issue was the fact that dancehall King, Mr. Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr aka Shatta Wale won nothing on the night. As usual, some netizens trolled the SM4Lyf King and even made memes out of what they labelled as "yawa".
In all that, Shatta Wale maintained his composure and refused to speak directly to the issue. This single act from Shatta Wale has astonished many because we know him to be the man who replies to every single issue on social media.
After the ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) was lifted, the former and the latter have been advocating for a restructuring of the award scheme and such trolls from the aftermath of the 3Music Awards wouldn't augur well for the industry if it persists.
Kudos to Shatta Wale for ignoring the trouble makers all this while.
