Omah Lay's 'What Have We Done' EP has given life to a yet-to-be-released single titled 'Upside Down', scheduled for release on 14/5/2021. After listening to the entire body of work on the EP, Harmony Music Group signee bigBen was captivated by how much Afro-soul the EP had.
Immediately, he started drafting the lyrics to Upside Down. Fast forward, the song was fully composed when he returned to Ghana to shoot the video for 'indomie' with Ghana's most decorated reggae-dancehall act Stonebwoy.
In an exclusive interview with BeenieWords, bigBen revealed how he programmed the instrumental to the song the very night he arrived in Ghana and recorded the song the next morning.
Born Benedict Uchenna Dike, bigBen is a songwriter, singer, and sound engineer born to Nigerian parents but currently based in Ghana championing the Afro-soul genre since 2017.
Upside down is a sexy song with a slow vibe that puts lovers in the mood to reflect on the importance of love and how paramount it is in our daily lives. It is a full representation of Afro-soul music, so get your lady to sit, relax and let's get to cloud 9.
