When renowned blogger and writer Arnold Asamoah Baidoo argued with self-proclaimed dancehall king in Ghana Charles Nii Armah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, on United television showbiz last week, it was not an average discussion moment. Arnold Asamoah Baidoo had already appeared on the show the day before and described Shatta Wale as the most confused and unreliable musician in Ghana. This infuriated Shatta, who responded by saying Arnold is a tiny boy who criticizes him and that his shoe only cost Ghc 2.50 pesewas. After a heated fight between the two sides, they were able to reach an agreement before they could even leave the studio.
Last night's show featured new pundits, including Da Hammer, who dismissed Arnold for criticizing Shatta Wale.
Teacher Kwadwo has established himself as one of the country's funniest and most consistent comedians. Nana Ama Mcbrown introduced him to her pundits on the show yesterday, as she normally does, before he could begin talking about current issues in the country. After what happened last week, Teacher Kwadwo took out his stethoscope and went straight to Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, who had brought a new shoe. According to Teacher Kwadwo, he studied ''sneakalogy'' at school, thus he was familiar with determining the genuine price of any given shoe and telling its heartbeat.
He placed the stethoscope under Arnold's shoe and joked, ", the shoe is really costly, but it cost a little more than Ghc 2.50 pesewas." He also informed Arnold that Shatta Wale has released a diss song for him, and that if he intends to respond, he should include him so that the two of them can poetically kill Shatta Wale together.
Arnold himself disclosed that Sneakerlord of Hill Bill sponsored his shoe.
Da Hammer of the last two disclosed that his tweet was aimed for the entire music industry, not just Shatta Wale. According to Da Hammer, he did not appear on the broadcast to discuss Arnold's earlier actions, but rather to discuss current issues. He went on to claim that he has known Arnold for a long time and has served on the same board with him on numerous occasions.
"I wrote my post out of disappointment, and I was furious with Arnold Asamoah Baidoo." I knew Arnold was trying to capitalize on Shatta Wale's image as a terrible guy. I noticed that Shatta mellowed out towards the start of the event, so I expected Arnold to do the same, but he didn't. If Arnold hadn't made that particular point, Wale would have remained silent for the show to continue in a pleasant manner. When the conversation ended in rage, I was hurt, so I got out my phone and posted something. Except for personally assaulting Arnold, I have no regrets about what I said."
"I made a personal attack on his character, and I apologize for that." Apart from that, I meant everything I said in the post" he ended.
