It was another fierce show on TV3’s ‘The Big Issue’ as the show rounded up with some interesting discussions. Johnny queried his guests about how the show has been in 2021 and the way forward. The guests today, Thursday, December 23, 2021 were Dennis Miracle Aboagye, former MCE of Akuapem North and Edem Agbana, a Deputy National Youth Organizer of the NDC.
The conversation got interesting as Dennis got on Johnnie’s nerves with his feedback about the programme. According to Dennis, Johnnie has in the course of the year been acting like an NDC panelist. He noted that Johnnie keeps interjecting NPP panelists when they come on the show and basically acting as a second NDC panelist to frustrate the NPP.
He cited two instances with ‘Johnnie’s Bite’ where Johnnie Hughes had made some claims he felt was frivolous. According to him Johnnie never sees anything good with the government. He threatened that if Johnnie continues like this then NPP panelists will stop coming on the show. Johnnie in reaction noted that this was a calculated plan from the NPP to destroy his reputation. He explained that there was nothing wrong when he raises further questions when his panelists talk. He reminded Dennis that if the NPP fail to come to their shows, it will affect the credibility of the NPP and not TV3.
According to Johnnie most of the questions he raises on NABCO, infrastructure and corruption are all genuine questions that every journalist needs to talk about. Johnnie and Dennis went back and forth trying to outwit each other with words. At one-point Johnnie asked for the microphone of Dennis to be turned off because he was speaking and interjecting the conversation time given to Edem Agbana.
It can be recalled that yesterday Hon. Stephen Amoah threatened to walk away from the show because he felt Jonnie was being biased. Dennis himself was the first NPP panelist to walk out on a discussion. It happened when he was in the studios of TV3 early in the year and was being questioned to list some of the dams created from the one village one dam project.
