This year's VGMA award is an inspiration to the the youth more especially the upcoming artists, as a teen rapper who majors in drill music known in Ghana as Asakaa and best known for his viral song 'Sore' which featured Kwesi Arthur and Stormzy on the remix, Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, popularly known as Yaw Tog wins the best Hip-hop song of the year at VGMA 2021 with "Sore".
The Ghanaian rapper beats big names in the in industry, the likes of Medikal, Kofi Jamar, Bosom P-yung, and others.
Nobody body thought the award would have skipped Medikal but surprisingly he won the fiercely contested category with his super hit song "Sore", giving room to the young artists to keep working hard and shall continue to grow.
Ironically after receiving the Best Hip Hop Song at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), out of anxiety was on record to have said, "shout-out to my haters".
Sincerely he deserves the award, I’m happy for him, my only problem is that, Oseikrom people won’t let us sleep through out this week in peace, noise will be all over with "sore" song.
Congratulations @YAWTOG_ #VGMA22.
