Meet Africa's Mr. Bean. The Tiktok Star Who Doesn't Speak

You might have used his pic for a meme, or even seen one of his comedy skits but I'm quite sure you don't know who he is or what he does. Find out more about him, who he is and why he is so popular below.

Born in Senegal, West Africa, Khabane Lame is a 21 year old man who currently lives in Italy. He started his Tiktok account after he lost his job working at a factory during the coronavirus pandemic.

Khaby Lame started with funny skits on his Tiktok account which out how people over complicated things for no reason. He believes his comical facial expressions makes people laugh and can connect with his videos easily because with that, you don't need to understand a particular language to find it funny.

"I came up with the idea because I was seeing these videos circulating, and I liked the idea of bringing some simplicity to it," Lame told CNN in a recent video interview.

"The type of gesture came by chance, but the silence didn't. I thought of a way to reach as many people as possible. And the best way was not to speak." He also said Will Smith and Eddie Murphy are his two biggest inspirations.

His Tiktok account now has more than 114 million followers and over 2 billion likes. Many believe Khaby will overtake Charli D'Amelio as the most followed TikTokker. According to the social media tracking website Social Blade, Khaby has gained a massive 21.9 million followers over the past 30 days whiles Charli has gained just 2.6 million over the past 30 days.
