"If you are a woman and you've not been called Ashawo then you are not a woman" - Bridget Otoo

Ghanaian media personality, Bridget Otoo has stated that any woman who has not been called "Ashawo" (prostitute) is not a woman.

Days ago, video of a blogger being disgraced by Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere and Bridget Otoo, judges for an audition, "Next Star" pops up on the internet.

In the video, the young man was questioned about his tweets he made against the three judges (Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere and Bridget Otoo) some years ago. The young man became shocked after tweets by him against Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere and Bridget Otoo in the past were retrieved.

The viral video sparked controversies on the internet as many showered praises on Nana Aba Anamoah and co while others says they acted unprofessional.

Bridget Otoo in an interview with Paul Adom Otchere on Metro TV on Tuesday evening, monitored by Ghana Nsem Everyday spoke on their saga with the said young man.

Speaking on cyber bullies, Bridget Otoo said any woman who has not been called prostitute (ashawo) is not a woman.

"If you are a woman and you've not been called ashawo then you are not a woman. I mean, if you are a woman who is vocal especially and have not been called ashawo then probably you are doing something wrong," she stated.

She also said what they did was to defend themselves and there's nothing wrong with that.
