A Ghanaian renowned actress and social media sensational Joselyn Dumas bemoaned the death of digitalization in Ghana after the contentious electronic levy was approved into law yesterday.

The actress, Joselyn Dumas started a conversation on her social media platform Twitter after she grieved over the fate of the digitization agenda in the country undertaking by the Vice president Mahamadu Bawumia. In a tweet that has over 500 retweets and comments, she pointed out many Ghanaians may resort to cash transfers by hand rather than the electronic transactions which is being taxed at the moment.

She stated on her wall, “People are emptying their MoMo account left and right. I guess we are back to Cash System in Ghana. Electronic Levy will be the demise of digitisation.”

The social media sensational, Joselyn Dumas also described the charges as ridiculous at a 1.5% fee. “The charges are ridiculous!… What???” she said

Meanwhile, whilst some Ghanaians on Twitter are in support with her. Others believe that such a post on the actress Twitter wall is far-fetch. Those in the latter group suggest that mobile money transactions or electronic transactions will be unaffected because people will always choose convenience.
