Currently, the most trending incident in Ghana is the Akuapem Poloo nude pictures brouhaha. Ghanaian-British professional boxer and WBO junior featherweight 2018 title holder, Isaac Dogboe has expressed that the embattled actress and mother needs more education on her conduct.
Apart from Dogboe, a lot of people have also stepped in to argue for Akuapem Poloo. Even though she has pleaded guilty, that won’t swerve her from the punishment. Just that her plea can attract a lenient punishment.
According to netizens, a lot of officials and politicians commit crimes and are able to walk away freely. As a result, it’s unfair to jail the actress. One funny incident is when they published the photo of Minister Kan Dapaah modelling in his pyjamas and captioned it “Even this man is walking free.”
According to legal practitioners, the actress can serve 3 years behind bars. That’s for taking and sharing on social media, nudes she had with her 7-year-old son last year. “Twerking vids and obscene (naked, posts on social platforms has become the catapult for some individuals’ rise to fame and though it is a problem particularly among some females, “I think”. There’s a need to educate more rather than the court throwing her in jail.” Dogboe shared.
Apart from him, celebrities like Sarkodie and Lydia Forson has joined the activism with FreeAkuapempoloo hashtag on various social media platforms. We’re still waiting on the judiciary system to tell what her punishment will be.
