According to the actress, the actor died as a result of negligence on the part of personnel at Accra's 37 Military Hospital.
Larry 'Da Oldman' was interviewed on Onua FM's Anigye mmere show. "His wife told me she took him to two different hospitals, and they didn't admit him because there were no beds available," she said over the phone. Even at the third hospital where he was admitted, someone familiar with Waakye begged another admitted patient to give up his bed to him."
"Because he was suffering from a mild stroke and couldn't walk properly, his wife wanted to stay the night and take care of him," Maame Dokono continued, "but the hospital declined." He apparently needed to urinate or do something similar, but because there were no nurses available to assist him, he fell out of bed. When his wife arrived the next morning, he was lying on the floor with a cut on his forehead and blood oozing. "He was already dead by the time the doctors arrived," she concluded.
