Rap as a genre needs more attention than it has now. This is quite obvious in how talented rappers air their innermost thoughts via rhythmic ingenuity anytime they visit the recording booths. In Ghana, even though most rappers have cemented their legacy in the "perceived" Hall of Fame with the likes of Lord Kenya, Obrafour and others, many are yet to make any initial mark at all. For the purpose of this writeup, the New School rap is what has caught my attention all of a sudden. In this sphere, Mr. Samuel Adu Frimpong aka Medikal of Arab Money Gang (AMG) Business Fame has been tipped by many who revere anything that has to do with Ghanaian rap.
With new showdowns like "Street Code", " La Hustle", "Undertaker Flow", "The Target" and others, Medikal seems poised to make his genuine mark over the entire matter. His flow, timing, choice of words, deliberate repetition for emphasis and other techniques employed by Medikal in his new stunt are breathtakingly awesome and commendable to any new rapper who has the vision of making it big. Personally, my respect for Medikal shot up when he called Sarkodie a legend in one of the videos and pleaded with fans to desist from comparing him to King Sark! Why should I even be surprised at all?! Isn't he rolling with the dope but lazy rapper, Criss Waddle?
Kudos to Criss Waddle for picking Medikal up and making him an immeasurable rap talent for the love of the culture.
