TV3 one of Media General’s foremost and first TV station is celebrating its 24th anniversary today. Since the inception of TV3 in 1997, they have won the hearts of many Ghanaians with exciting programmes and intelligent presenters. Today, Friday, Captain Smart host of Onua Maakye on Onua TV joined Johnnie Hughes, Berla Mundi, Cookie T and Thierry Nyan to start the New Day show.
One of the topics that the crew touched on was on the 19 boys who have been sodomized in the north. According to Captain Smart, the silence of the Ministries of Gender and Health, alongside the Police was deafening and needs to be changed. Jonnies asked Captain Smart of his opinion on the issue and Captain mentioned that the government doesn’t know what to do.
Captain Smart was baffled that something like this could happen and people sit in office and are yet to act. “It is time we look into the eyes of people and tell them the truth. They just don’t know what to do. The best they will do is go to the area and meet the families and that’s all. They won’t do anything again. That’s all they do” Captain explained.
Captain Smart joined the crew as they boogied and danced in celebration of the 34th anniversary. The station has seen promotion of presenters like Emma Morrison Roland Walker, Ama Adade, Gideon Ayequaye, Nana Aba Anamoah, Israel Laryea, Paul Adom Otchere, Fiifi Banson, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
Major shows like Mentor, Celebration, The Pulpit, Bands Alive, Talented Kids, Music Music, Dennis and Gnasher, The Highlander have all passed through. One cannot forget telenovelas like Acapulco Bay, Rosalinda, Esmeralda, Juana the Virgin among others. These kept the station running and being the heartbeat of many Ghanaians.
