Mrs Francisca Ashietey-Odunton is a legendary Ghanaian Journalist and Broadcaster, Lawyer and Diplomat. She has been in the Broadcasting space for over 25 years. Madam Francisca is married and blessed with two children.

She is an old student of Aburi Girls Senior High School, Aburi. From there, she moved forward to study Social Sciences at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), majoring in English.

After completing KNUST, she joined the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in 1990. Seven years later, thus in 1997, she completed her bar exams at the Ghana Law School and was called to the Ghana Bar afterwards, after obtaining her LLB. She has been a barrister with over 16 years of experience. She also holds a master's degree from the London School of Economics.

Francisca also graduated from the United Nations University in Tokyo, Japan where she additionally acquired a postgraduate degree from the London School of Economics.

While working at GBC, she was hired as a Senior Production Assistant. Hence, she worked on programs such as Adult Education, Kyekyekule, Children's Own, Country Music, among others. She is known everywhere for her tv presentation and news reading. However she was also an editor, chief editor and presidential correspondent, and she did all these concurrently. She left for the legal department of the co-operation as a Senior Legal Advisor.

Furthermore, she was appointed as the Deputy Director-General of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. She was the first woman to hold such a position at the GBC. Thereafter, she served as the Acting Director-General of the Corporation, until a Director-General was appointed. She served as a Presidential correspondent for 8 years.

She has held so many positions and offices in her space. She was appointed as Ghana's High Commissioner to Kenya in August 2017, to act as a figurehead of Ghana in that country. After serving for 4 years, she was finally reappointed as Ghana's Ambassador to Turkey.

On September 9th, 2021, Mrs Francisca Ashietey-Odunton presented her letter of credence to the Turkish leader.

Mrs Ashietey-Odunton has covered international conferences, including the African Union Summit, Ecowas Summit and World Food Summit.
