22 year old Jackline Acheampong, popularly known as 'Gyakie' is a Ghanaian Afrobeat/Afro fusion songwriter who keeps on blowing the minds of Ghanaians with her smooth and silky voice and her heartwarming lyrics.
Eventhough she does not like to referred as such, she is the daughter of Highlife music legend Nana Acheampong of Lumba brothers fame. According to her, she does not want to ride on her father's fame but rather wants to make her own name through the genre of music she does.
The nation's sweetheart is currently in her fourth year at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology reading International Business.
It is amazing how she is able to juggle her schooling with her career without any trouble. She says that the programme she is studying is directly linked to her music career and that sometimes when she misses class she is able to relate her working experience with her academics and vice-versa.
This progidy released her first single in 2019 entitled: 'Love is pretty' and since then, it has been banger upon banger. She has currently collaborated with Bisa K'dei of Ghana and Omar Lay of Nigeria.
Gyakie has one EP called 'Seed EP' on which she has five songs.The most popular song on the EP is 'Forever' which is topping charts internationally. She recently did a remix of the song with Omar Lay which has also blown up. She has recently revealed that her next album will be released in July.
This young lady is signed to Flip The Music, RCA records and biggest of all, Sony Music record Labels. She has also shared that, so far, her parents are really proud of her and want her to progress higher.
