On Monday 21st April at 9:00 am, the Accra high court granted Akuapem Poloo a bail of GHS80,000.00. The court presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey granted the bail on two sureties i.e., Rosemond Brown has to report the case to the court every two weeks, and She is also supposed to deposit her passport with the registrar of the court. According to the court, she will have to travel with the permission of the court.
Earlier last week, The Accra Circuit Court handed the social media sensation a 90 days jail sentence for posting naked pictures of herself and her son on Instagram.
The actress pleaded guilty to the charges of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity, and engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.
This sentence however divided the country in two; as the decision of the court to give the actress a custodial sentence was met with mixed reactions from Ghanaians. Some were of the opinion that the sentence was commiserated with the offense whiles some also described the sentence as harsh.
