The Law Must Deal with Shatta Wale for Spreading Fake News like Takoradi Pregnant Woman- Johnnie

Last night, news broke out on social media that legendary Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has been shot and receiving treatment at an unknown hospital in Accra. The brokers of the news indicated that he was shot in East Legon and the gunmen are on the run.

Spreading fake news is a crime under our laws and therefore the police must act on this- Johnnie Hughes fumed on TV3's "Newday" morning show. Look, what the camp of Shatta Wale did was published by websites, bloggers and some mainline media houses. Meanwhile, it is untrue. Not long ago, a 28-year-old woman from Takoradi faked a pregnancy and kidnap. She is still facing the laws of Ghana. The law in Ghana must work in the case of Shatta Wale too. I mean what is celebratory about this move? Just for clouts? Johnnie asked in anger.

However, the Ghana police have launched a search for the artist and they have expressed that on their official social media platform. They have spent time visiting his house and some hospitals in Accra, all in search of the artist but their efforts proved futile. The police left some numbers out there for citizens to call when they see and find any information about Shatta Wale.

This is very unfortunate especially considering the psychological trauma I personally went through upon hearing the matter for the first time. I was sadly perplexed and dumbfounded until I realized late in the night that there is something fishy about the whole thing. Such a waste of precious time. I’m very disappointed in Shatta.
