Celebrities in Ghana have started to petition the president of the Republic of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to free Akuapim Polo based on his power as a president. Akuapim Polo has been sentenced to 90 days in prison for posting a naked picture of herself and her son on social media. This has caused a lot of people to talk about it including layers, television and radio personalities and other Ghanaian celebrities. Before Akuapim Polo’s judgement, her fellow celebrities including Sarkodie used their social media platforms to campaign for her freedom but all efforts had no result. After Akuapim Polo’s imprisonment, her fellow celebrities have decided to revive the ‘free Akuapim Polo campaign’ once again. This time the campaign is directed towards the president of Ghana. A post spotted on DJ Mensah’s Facebook page is calling all fans of Akuapim Polo to join to sign the petition.
“There's an ongoing online petition to Our president Nana Akuffo Addo to pardon Akuapem Poloo. Please if you care, kindly sign this Petition to help this cause. https://chng.it/KdrQ7jQ8KD . Kindly share. Thank you in advance and God bless you. Happy Sunday.” It was posted on DJ Mensah’s Facebook wall. DJ Mensah is one of Ghana’s award winning DJs
