Captain Smart Uses Service Passport – Owusu Bempah Alleges

Onua TV breakfast Show 'Maakye's host Godsbrain Blessed Yirenkyi Smart popularly known as Captain Smart uses a service passport which is illegal for an ordinary citizen to have one.

This is an allegation that was made on a live TV show, 'The Seat Show' on Net 2 TV by 'Fixing the country movement' convener, Ernest Owusu Bempah.

Kwaku Annan who is a host of the 'The Seat Show' on Net 2 TV was in the studio with Ernest Owusu Bempah of the Ghana Gas Company and Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, a convener of 'Fixing the country movement.

Details of the passport revealed that it was issued in November 2017, which shows it was issued under the current government, and is due to expire in November 2022.

"Under what circumstances did an ordinary citizen like Captain Smart procure a service passport." Owusu Bempah went further threatening to make a report to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service over the matter.

Hopeson Yaovi Adorye explained further, "We have three passport number types, we have the ordinary passport type beginning with "GO" Service passport type beginning with "SX" and the Diplomatic passport type which begins with "DX."

"Captain Smart's passport number is SX002025, who gave him a service passport? what qualification does he has to attain such passport, yet this guy called Captain Smart stands on his morning show and insult people and call them all kinds of names. Adorye explained.

Hopeson Adorye confirmed that as a Government employee as Owusu Bempah is, have applied for and have given service passport.

A service passport is a type of passport that is issued to government employees. It function is to let officials in a destination country know that the bearer is coming to that country on official assignment.
