Black Sherif, a rapper from Ghana, has disclosed that his most recent song was originally intended for his highly anticipated next album, "The Villain I Never Was."
He revealed this to 3Music execs in a private meeting that was set up to show off some of his unheard music. Prince Benjamin of Class News cited video from the meeting, which, according to 3Music affiliate Eric Toscar, occurred about a month ago.
"Do you know how this song was made available? We removed this song from the album when it was put together. We removed it. Sherif stated to Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, the creator of 3Music Networks, that this song was not included. I confessed to him that, after recording it, I was only able to listen to one particular song. ", he continued.
The singer-songwriter tried to let the listener understand how precious the song was, but it was too late. I wasn't upset when this happened, Blacko, as he is affectionately known, recalls. We were present, though, when he returned and said that the following song needed to be released, he said.
The "Kwaku the Traveller" hitmaker inquired about the cause for the U-turn from the anonymous person, who may have been Sherif's record company A & R executive. It turns out that he had listened to the song once more. This proved to Black Sherif that he was correct when he said the music was unique.
He reflected thoughtfully, "When I composed this song, where I was mentally, it was important to write this song. He said, "I haven't written a Drill song in five months," adding that recently, he has been "making reggae tunes" among other things. The American-based Empire signee's most recent, titled "Soja," was released today, Thursday, September 22, 2022. Its sound is reminiscent of the Ghanaian music tradition known as Adowa.
