Indeed there are rules and regulations in this country and until one commits an offence you won't get to the laws of the state. In view of this most of Ghanaian celebrities commit certain offences and think they can buy their way through the law with their fame or even money but since law is the supremacy of the country,no one is therefore above the law.
1. Rosemond Alade Brown
Rosemonde Alade Brown, popularly known by the stage name Akuapem Poloo is a togolese but base in Ghana. She is popularly known to the society because of her harshness and her fame on the social media handles. Just recently Akuapem Poloo was seen in viral naked picture with her son which was seen as an uncalled for act and prosecuted. Today, 16th May 2021, she was charged according to the child rights in the constitution and has been given a jail term of 3 months by the Accra court.
The Ghanaian actress and musician, Emelia Brobbey was accused of shoplifting in the UK jewelry shop in the year 2013.
Though she denied it and proved that it might be her child who might have mistakenly taken it and dropped it somewhere in her bag.
She denied guilty of the accusations which was raised against her but was made to pay for the jewels to get her freedom without any further charges.
The talented Hiplife artist,Deeba Acheampong was caught defying his stepdaughter who was 8 years till she reached 13 years. Upon all the sexy and hot girls in the music industry,she didn't find interest in anyone but rather went ahead to disgrace himself in UK by defiling his stepdaughter for 5 years and since 2013,he was extradited to the United Kingdom to face five counts of assault and defilement.
Someway, somehow he may still be languishing in jail
4. Kwaw Kesse
The incident of Emmanuel Kofi Botchwey, popularly known by his stage Kwaw Kesse (Abodam) was quite popular in the country.
The Abodam singer was arrested in Kumasi at a popular pub called Plus 2 for smoking weed in the year 2014.
He was found guilty of smoking a hard drug which was believed to be weed or marijuana which is seen as an illegal substance. He was sentenced by the court to remain in police custody for 5 months and was made to pay a fine.
After his release, he set up a foundation to help inmates in Ghana prison
The controversial Ghanaian musician, Belinda Nana Ekuah Ampah popularly known by her stage name Mzbel was accused of intentionally running into a police patrol officer with two guys with their vehicle and drove off with full speed and the police officer still holding onto the bonnet. They were prosecuted and was served with five days in police custody by Accra Motor Court.
They were granted bail after the court proceedings.
