Agya Koo Is The Reason We Are Where We Are Today - Kwaku Manu Confesses

Award-winning Kumawood actor, Kwaku Manu has eulogized his senior colleague Agya Koo during an interview with Poleeno Multimedia. Although for the past years, many Ghanaians knew the two were holding something against each other due to some misunderstanding but Kwaku has come out bold to eulogized his senior.

Kwaku Manu stated that Agya Koo was an inspiration to him long before he began his acting career. He stated that he used to watch Agyakoo on television and decided to emulate him to become a celebrity like Agya Koo. He went ahead in praising him and even asked Ghana to build a statue for him either in Accra or Kumasi to praise his effort for Ghana movie industry.

“Agya Koo is the reason we are where we are today, he has been an inspiration to many of us in the industry including myself. I think we need to build a statue in his honour whether in Kumasi or Accra.

“President Kuffour even awarded him because he helped us to retain the amount of money we were losing to Nigeria in terms of patronizing their movies. I used to watch him on television and through that, I was influenced to act, all thanks to him and I am not going to change my statement because that is the truth of the matter,” he stated.

There has always been a crucial argument concerning the greatest Ghaians actor of all time and anytime this debate pops up, names like the late Santo, Lilwin, Agya Koo, John Dumelo and the likes pop up but it looks like no one comes close to Agya Koo in terms of saving the industry by sacrificing his time and energy.
