Actress and Social Activist, Yvonne Nelson and New York based Fianko Bossman are leading online effort with the creation of a #Gofundme account to raise funds for fellow Actress Beverly Afaglo who lost her Tema Community Nine house and everything in it to a devastating fire outbreak last Monday. As at this morning, 44 people had responded to their plea and the $1,219 amount raised is still far off the $20,000 fund target. In a statement, Yvonne Nelson and her partner said Beverly Afaglo has lost everything and made a passionate appeal to the public to rise to the occasion and donate generously to help their movie industry colleague rebuild her life.
"Our sister Beverly and husband Choir master who have lost all their belongings in a fire that burned down their home.We are pleading with the public and all love ones to be touched in their hearts to donate something or anything that can help them get back on their feet," Yvonne and Co wrote in an appeal on the #Gofundme site.
On Monday [August ], as the Actress was away from home, a fire believed to have started in her backyard caught up with her house and burnt everything. Fire fighters responded but by the time they doused the fire, the property and all it contents were destroyed. The actress and her musician husband who lives in America have since been receiving well wishes and messages of comfort from friends and families.
