On the 3rd of April, 2021. The nominees for the 22nd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards have been announced. Fans were ecstatic to learn that their favorite artists had been nominated in their respective categories.
Surprisingly, these two giants, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, were left off the list; fans and Ghanaians are furious, but remain calm.
Although neither of them were in Ghana on the day of the announcement, Stonebwoy is currently in the United Kingdom, while Shatta wale is in Miami working on his Gog album. However, it's clear that their indefinite ban from competing in the VGMAs, which was imposed after an altercation between them ruined the 2019 edition, was lifted before the end of the submission period.
Following the presentation of the VGMA22 nomination list, there was a large debate on all of the event's relevant issues. Some board members, as well as Giobana, reported that the two giants were not on the nomination list.
They probably just need some space to figure things out, and they can't say they'd never be a part of anything like that. This is why Sarkodie's fans adore him.
