Afia Schwarzenegger Joins Muslims Today to Celebrate Eid Mubarak

Today marked another important day on the Islamic calendar as Muslims across the globe celebrated the Eid al Adha. If you had enough time to spend on social media, then you would have noticed the “take your Muslim name” challenge. It was fun to watch as various celebrities and radio presenters took Muslim names they want.

We are well aware that event like this will never pass without the popular radio and Tv host, Afia Schwarzenegger taking an active part. Yes, she did not only adopt the name, “Aisha Afia Sharabutu,” but she went further to present herself at the mosque to join the Muslim community to celebrate the day.

We should note that due to the COVID-19 safety measures, Muslims were not able to worship together during the Eid al Fitr. So, this was a great opportunity for them all to come together and worship. Social distancing protocols were observed as H.E Dr Mahamadu Bawumia was also seen obeying the measures. Afia too observed the measures well with her face shield and nose mask.

Afia took to Facebook to announce to her fans that she is now a daughter of the Chief Imam. Her adopted name is Aisha Afia Sharabutu. The name Aisha though has a good record on social media. Afia was seen kneeling beside the Chief Imam. It was a picture so we don’t know what was being discussed.

A fan commented on Afia’s post asking her if the chief Imam advised her. She replied, “Emmanuel Ntelabi Sera Chayo, yes he told me not to entertain fools like you.” The comment caused a roar in the comment section. Ghanaians thought that Afia has changed after going to the Mosque, but the comment shows that irrespective of what we “Change,” she is still ready to pay people well. It will be better if we respect her as she will also reciprocate such respect.
