Music has come a long way from highlife to the introduction of hiplife, dance songs, Afro mix, Reggae and now Dancehall all over in the country.Highlife has been the preferred music genre for many years even up till today until the introduction of Hiplife and others.Different musicians prefer to use different style know as modern genre originating in the highlife music.But at a point in the country’s history, there is a single musician who stands out as the greatest and most sort-after. OBRAFOUR
Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko popularly known as Obrafour, other names include Rap Executioner and Rap Sofo is a Ghanaian hiplife musician and rapper. Obrafour has a unique style of Twi rapping and storytelling.He won the best hiplife song in the 2000 Ghana Music Awards and also rapper of the year together with the New artiste of the year.Obrafour had a one time breakthrough with his “Pae mu ka” album and topped all musicians at that time.Obrafour was chosen as the preferred rapper for two to three years after he released his album .
DADDY LUMBA
Daddy Lumba is a Ghanaian musician. Lumba was born Charles Kwadwo Fosu in a village called Nsuta Amangoase in the Sekyere Central District, near Mampong in the Ashanti Region. He is widely regarded as the greatest Ghanaian musician of all time.Charles Kojo Fosu is a multiple award-winning Ghanaian musician with a career spanning three decades.In the late 1990s, Daddy Lumba was the most-sort after musician. He played all the gigs and got all the riches every musician could imagine.
