1. Ebony Reigns
Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng popularly known as Ebony Reigns was a Ghanaian Afrobeats and dancehall artist. She became a household name.in the Ghana entertainment industry in 2016 following the release of her hit song, 'Kupe'. Ebony followed up with hits, 'Poison', 'Maame Hwe' among others.
On February 8 2018, Ebony died in a traffic collision whilst returning from Sunyani to Accra after visiting her mother. A state funeral was organized for her at the forecourt of the State House and later buried at the Soup Cemetery on 24 March, 2018.
2. Pop Smoke
Bashar Barakah Jackson professionally known.as Pop Smoke was an American rapper who associated with Brooklyn drill. He rose to fame following the release of his global hit songs, 'Welcome To The Party' and 'Dior' in 2019.
Pop Smoke was shot three times after an altercation with five hooded men who broke into his rented house in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles on 19 February, 2020. He was pronounced dead at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was rushed after being shot.
He was buried at Green-wood Cemetery.
3.Nipsey Hussle
Airmiess Joseph Asghedom popularly known as Nipsey Hussle was an American rapper who was best known for his numerous mixtapes including 'The Marathon', 'The Marathon Continues' and 'Crenshaw'.
Nipsey's debut album, 'Victory Lap' was nominated for 'Best Rap Album' and won 'Best Rap Performance' at the 62nd Grammy Awards.
Nipsey Hussle was shot at least ten times in the parking lot of his store in South Los Angeles on March 31, 2019. His memorial service was held on 11 April, 2019 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
4. Juice Wrld
Jarad Anthony Higgins popularly known as Juice Wrld was an American rapper, singer and songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. His hit single 'Lucid Dreams' ushered him into the music game.
On December 8 2019, Juice Wrld died of drug overdose after swallowing several unknown pills including multiple Percocet pills. He was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center after he had received two doses of emergency medication narcan when he began convulsing and seizing. He died at the medical center that day.
A funeral ceremony was organized for him at Holy Temple Cathedral Church Of God In Christ, Harvey, Illinois.
5. XXXTentacion
Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy popularly known as XXXTentacion was an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He is considered as a leading figure of emo-rap and soundcloud rap genre.
On June 18 2018, XXXTentacion was fatally shot near a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The assailants fled the scene in a black Dodge Journey SUV after stealing a Louis Vuitton bag containing $50,000 from him.
He was laid to rest in a mausoleum at Gardens of Boca Raton Memorial Park, Florida.
